This month at Roosevelt, students are working hard on their project based learning.  Roosevelt partners with Technology Access Foundation (TAF) to support the development of Project Based Learning experiences for our students. Project based learning at Roosevelt encourages students to actively engage with real-world challenges within their communities, fostering a sense of responsibility and connection. By working collaboratively on meaningful projects, students develop critical thinking skills as they analyze problems, explore solutions, and reflect on their learning process. This approach not only deepens academic understanding but also empowers students to make positive contributions to their communities.

This month at Roosevelt, we are learning about and celebrating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We will celebrate his life with an assembly on Friday, January 23, 2026. 

We are also learning about EMPATHY and how to show empathy toward others.

Free Dental Services at Roosevelt provided by Lindquist Dental

Dental hygienists and assistants will be here on January 23^rd to do oral health assessments, fluoride varnish, and dental sealants if needed on our students. This is a completely free service! Consent forms were sent home on Wednesday and should be in your child’s backpack. Please fill out all sections of the form and return in as soon as possible.

If you don’t find a form, please contact the office or stop in and we will make sure you get one. Again, this service is no cost to you. Take advantage of it!

Beyond the Bell, Club B registration opens this week

Our school is offering some really great after school programs that will open for registration this week.

• Registration runs Wed Jan. 14 – 25 for elementary/Beyond the Bell Roosevelt Students.
• Session 3 dates: Feb. 9 – April 3

Families with outstanding Beyond the Bell and Club B invoices are now required to settle their balance in MySchoolBucks before registering for future sessions. No student will be denied access due to financial need.

What's on the February ballot for neighborhood schools?

On the Feb. 10 Special Election ballot, voters will consider two replacement levy measures. Propositions 1 and 2 would maintain safe neighborhood schools where students from every background have access to a high-quality education, technology and academic programs that prepare them for post-secondary success. 

Prop. 1 funds 17% of daily operations, including about 500 staff members, along with arts, music and athletics.

Prop. 2 provides access to technology for students and staff in all neighborhood schools.

Both are 4-year replacement measures. The existing levies are due to expire this year.
