This week at Roosevelt, we had a lot of fun with our Spirit Week.  Everyone participated and dressed up in some way.  We had lots of fun dressing like a student or a staff member.  Yesterday was mismatch day and today is Twin Day! Lots of students and staff dressed alike.

Spring Break next week, No School April 6-10. We look forward to seeing you when we return on Monday, April 13, 2026.

Roosevelt Avenue in front of the school will be closed this week for street repair.  Please plan accordingly when we return for possible disruptions to our regular traffic patterns. I am so excited to see our surrounding streets look amazing but living this the construction has been hard.  Thank you all families for your patience and understanding this year.

To Do: Read with your child during break.  This is a great way to provide some daily structure and keep them practicing their skills they worked so hard to gain.

Roosevelt Beyond the Bell Registration NOW OPEN – Act by April 5th!

Registration for Beyond the Bell Session 4 is now open through April 5th at 11:59pm for elementary students. Beyond the Bell offers affordable after-school activities from dismissal until 5:45pm at Roosevelt, with flexible pricing based on your family's needs. No student will be denied access due to financial need—contact beyondthebell@tacomaparks.com for assistance. Register through the COMPASS app (TPS Family App).

URGENT: Two programs need your enrollment to run! We're at risk of losing Mini Sports (M/W, Grades K-2) and Vision Step Team (T/Th, Grades 3-5) due to low enrollment. Mini Sports gives younger students the chance to try different sports in a fun, supportive environment where they build skills, make friends, and stay active. Vision Step Team is a dynamic, girl-centered program using African American stepping to build confidence, leadership, and sisterhood—empowering girls through culture and community. Both programs run April 20 – June 12 from 3:45-5:45pm.

Students, families invited to tour colleges

All Tacoma Public Schools families are invited to participate in our annual set of College Tours for Families.

Tacoma Public Schools’ Community Partnership Office, in partnership with the College Success Foundation, organized tours of seven outstanding local colleges. Guests will tour campuses and learn from college staff about the admissions process, financial aid, scholarships and college life—unique to each school.

Tours are designed for TPS students and families to learn together. Explore your future possibilities and gain firsthand insights into programs, resources and more.
